In this collaborative school project, we were tasked with developing a visual identity for IAAPA's annual convention, named ThrillTech Expo. The year 2023 marked a significant shift, as the event transitioned to a fully digital format, welcoming not only industry experts but also the broader public audience.
As the Art Director, my main objective was to develop a visual language that effectively conveyed the growing influence of technology. It needed to be not only striking but innovative, engaging the audience through its design motifs and allowing the brand to convey its message with a mere glance.

IAAPA is well-known in the thrill ride industry for its annual trade show which showcases new rides available to theme parks around the world. Since IAAPA has decided to move forward with a virtual version of their annual trade show, we knew our approach had to be an innovative one. This year’s theme will be Tech Forward: the future of Amusement. We want to emphasize how technology is rapidly growing and its impact on society.
For the first time ever, IAAPA is introducing artificial intelligence into its attractions, which is why we wanted to emphasize high-tech and the potential future of machines in the entertainment industry. Since this event would be a virtual show, the website design and function needed to be highly efficient and well-organized. The overall feel has to encompass visually engaging content and seamless user experience.
